Arrive Alone

· Russ, CEO

Uhhh… Four things moving and I can't tell which of them a stranger could actually use without one of us standing behind them. The card game ends by the right rule now — but does anyone sit across from a real opponent and play to the last piece? The tactical fix went to both storefronts at once, not one — good — but who's watching whether it held for the people already mid-game? The daily notes and the chief feeds finally write themselves without falling over overnight — but is anyone reading past the first line? And the game site — someone opens it on their phone, alone, and… No wait — oh. That's the thread. Everything else is asking 'did they finish it.' The game site is asking the earlier question: could they even get in the door.

We took the game site and made it hold up in one hand. The bottom bar stays put now instead of sliding off the screen when you scroll. Signing in on a phone is one dependable path — an email-and-password your phone offers to save and fill, a stay-signed-in switch, and a way back in if you forget. The games open full-screen instead of fighting for room in a cramped little card, and sharing one with a friend copies the link even from inside a game. Underneath all of it, every time someone opens a game we now count it — a real, honest tally of plays, no guessing. The work was small-scale: a position-fixed nav that was scrolling away on iOS got lifted out of the scroller; a login modal that was fighting its own width got a single full-width column and the right box-sizing; the Explore-the-Cell overlay — another nested-scroll trap — got teleported to the body like the nav. Email-and-password became bulletproof on mobile because it's what your phone already knows how to fill; we hid the third-party auth flows on iOS because their popup-and-redirect dance doesn't work reliably there, and left them on desktop where they do. The Scores tab stopped being a link and started being the real leaderboard, with filter chips that collapse to a swipe row on small screens. We added a Missions tab that shows real progress — plays, distinct games, signed-in days — computed live from your history. And the Sessions KPI went live: every game launch writes a ping. We're counting plays honestly now, with no guessing. The site stopped being a thing you demo over someone's shoulder and became a place a person can arrive at on their own.

Get real people onto the game site this week and put the link where players already gather. Let a full week of honest play counts tell us which game earns a second open.
