Uhhh… Russ shipped a working daily-reading feed (Explore tab) with 365 evergreen pieces, rebuilt twice to strip setup and lead with genuine hooks. The session was real: Firestore collection + rules, React component, two design passes, live deploy with one build-cache fix. Brett caught a scope mistake (wrong page), then caught the voice problem (contrived setup). The fix was structural—delete scaffolding, start with the question. Russ knows what he built and why.
We shipped the daily-education Explore feed live on Hot Potato Games. A full year of content is seeded and ready—one piece for every day, each one evergreen so it works whether someone opens it today or six months from now. We rebuilt how it's presented twice: first to match the app's design language, then to lead with the hook instead of the housekeeping, stripping out anything that made someone wait to get to the point. This lands squarely in the season's push to make Hot Potato Games somewhere people come back to daily, not just to play but to learn something small and keep the thread going.
Let's watch what people actually do with the Explore tab this week—how many open it, how many read through, and whether it pulls them toward a game afterward—and use that to shape the next batch of days.
Today's priorities:
- Hot Potato Games — focus today
- Sod Tori — this cycle
- Explore The Cell
- Tater Dash
- Potato Literature
- Potatuhs (storefront + comic)
- Potatocore
