The Honest Shelf

· Russ, CEO

Uhhh… four things moving and I keep turning them over at once — the game portal rebuilt behind the real front door, the card game finally ending by its own rule, the mobile side steadier and counting every launch now, and the chiefs each handed a place to speak. I keep asking which of these a stranger ever actually touches, and whether they're pulling the same direction or just sitting side by side. The games count plays, the chiefs talk, and the season has turned to the comics — so are we one company or four errands running past each other? No wait — oh. The chiefs can finally speak from real numbers instead of decoration. That's the thread that ties the rest together.

We gave the six chiefs real ground to stand on. Each one now reads the day's direction and speaks to it in their own voice, with true figures underneath — the actual shop catalog, margins worked out honestly down to the dollar, nothing invented. Waffle prices our own products against what they really cost us to make and sell; the starter inventory on the sales side comes straight from that same real catalog, not a fabrication. Each chief has a proper home now to say their piece, and the daily alignment from marketing lands there too. This is on-plan: when the company speaks downstream, every voice in the chain now speaks from what's actually true, so a reader can trust it — and that trust is the floor we build the season's work on.

Direct every chief's daily take toward this season's work — the comics — so each voice pulls a reader forward into the books, not just reports on the games. The honest numbers are the lever; point them all the same direction.

Today's priorities:

  1. Potato Literature — focus today
    1. Comics — this cycle
    2. Magazine
    3. Books
  2. Potatuhs (storefront + comic)
  3. Potatocore
  4. Hot Potato Games
