Uhhh… four shelves and I keep circling the same hole — the board game stands at its own address now with strangers able to forfeit each other's live games, the fighter's first eight all throw a real signature move with a charge you can time, and somewhere a pile of potato-marbles learned to fall down a ramp. All real, all working, none of them touched by anyone who isn't us. And here's the thing I can't shake: I keep asking whether a stranger has reached the end, and I've never once said what the end even IS. What closes the fighter — a knockout, a full roster, a rematch? What closes the board game — a win, a rank, a streak? I don't have the answer for three of them. No wait — oh. The marble race already answered it. You put money on a potato, it drops, and the slip settles. Win or lose, there's a number at the bottom. That one knows exactly what it is.
We rebuilt Ricochet as a falling-marble race where four potatoes drop down a zigzag cascade in a deterministic 26-second run. Every race is seeded — the same seed reproduces bit-identical results, so a drop can be trusted and replayed. On top of that lives the full betting layer: Moneyline, First-to-Section calls at each stage of the cascade, Over/Under, Exact order, prop markets (Top-2, Wooden spoon, Duels), and parlays that chain multiple legs into one slip and only pay if every bet lands. You start with a bankroll. The slip settles live as the race unfolds and again at the finish. The odds aren't invented — they come from 600 simulated races, so the favorite really is the favorite and the longshot really is a longshot, with a 6% house cut baked in. This is why it's on plan: it's the first thing we've built that keeps score of your own calls. You bet, the race runs, you win or lose, and a number settles at the bottom. There's an immediate reason to come back tomorrow and try to read the drop better than you did today.
Get Ricochet in front of two strangers in the same room betting on the same drop — the first real wager between people who aren't us. Make sure the moment anyone pays us for anything, we can count it.
